VERSE: It’s been so long since I had a good man/And I wonder where can he be?/
You know lately I find myself/ feelin’ rather blue/Lonely, achin’,pitiful but it’s true/Well I maybe a drama queen/ but my heart is suffering/Missin’ that sweet bliss/ the place where only passion exists/
CHORUS: So tell me where oh where can my man be/Is he searchin’, yearnin’, 4 me/Please tell me where oh where can my man be/Bring us together, answer my prayer
VERSE: How long must I wait?/ seems I‘m last in line/Restless, feening, well I’m goin’ out of my mind/So hey Mr.Destiny/ come stake your claim on me/I’m eager and anxious/ 4 “u and I” 2 become “us”/
CHORUS
BRIDGE: Maybe cupids forgotten me/ cuz I ain’t got no-one by my side, who’s lovin’ me?

STORY BEHIND THE SONG: This song is completely different from all the other songs on the PHOENIX album and there is a good reason why.
Here's the story:
While in the studio, nearing the completion of my new album PHOENIX, my co-producer pointed out that I didn't have any love ballads. I wasn't really disturbed by this fact, because my first 2 albums are loaded with slow love songs.
Anyways, a couple of days passed and once again my co-producer brought it to my attention that there were still no ballady type songs on the album. I thought on it, and recalled all the people who had approached me over the years and asked me to record a torchy soul/motown track on one of my albums. "FOR US", they said, "DO IT FOR US PLEASE". Wellllllll, I started contemplating those requests and was also aware that my co-producer was subtly nudging me in the same direction. The more I thought about it, the more I started to realize that the idea was a great one. A special song, based on prior fan requests. A song that was outside of my musical genre(ha ha, do i have a specific genre?) and would (hopefully) sitck out like a sore, but an incredibly cool sore, thumb. Only problem was- I didn't have any completed love songs written. I mean, I had this one IDEA. We're talking the first 2 lines of the song, no chorus, no hook, just 2 lines. Well...I sang those 2 lines to my co-producer and a couple of others, and the response was the same. An overwhelming "YES, PUT IT ON THE ALBUM". I wrote the rest of the song, recorded it, brought in some musicians, and added a spoken introduction to the song, letting the people know that it was intended especially for them.
So if you're thinkin that this song is the odd one out on this album, you're right. However...I strive to live outside of the box, to not conform to what society dictates is acceptable, and to be original.
That's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
